FAO The Bursar or person responsible for Finance/FMS in school
In order for Devon Schools to be able to reconcile in the new FCR FMS database a small task must now be completed within FMS before downloading and importing reconciliation files from Devon into FMS.

Please visit the following FAQ for details of how to complete this task : http://faq.scomis.org/kb3648/

This task must be completed in order to reconcile in the new year.

All schools on the Scomis Hosted Application platform (SIMS Terminal Server) must also complete this task within their FMS application.

For any further assistance, please contact the Scomis Service Desk on 01392 385300 or email scomis@devon.gov.uk

Virgin Media are doing essential overnight works in the Exeter area between 00:05 and 06:00 tomorrow (Weds AM). These works will affect the main SWGfL connection for the Exeter network - access to Scomis services should be unaffected due to the resilient network connections in place.

Following on from the SWGfL firewall migration, a problem has arrisen that has caused a widespread loss of service across the entire south west.

Typically Schools will be able to access the Internet (such as www.bbc.co.uk) but will be unable to access services such as Hosted Terminal Server, Remote Backup and Remote Support and more.

SWGfL/RM are working with suppliers to correct the fault, although at time of writing we are unable to give schools an estimated time for a fix.

Please keep checking our News website or this post for further updates.

13:42 - The SWGfL/RM third party has applied a fix which currently appears to have resolved connectivity issues.

16:30 - Following this mornings SWGfL Firewall problems, RM have put a fix in place - the platform has been stable since lunchtime and it will be monitored to prevent any further problems from recurring. Investigations are ongoing into the root cause.

This is a reminder that SWGfL will be migrating to the new firewall solution on Tuesday 12th April from 8pm until midnight.
Scomis will be monitoring the situation and if any problems are encountered after the migration, please contact the SWGfL Service Desk on 0845 307 7870.
